Can You Use Pinnacle Sports? What the Terms Say and What to Check
Deposit first, ask later is the expensive order. Check what Pinnacle Sports allows before you send a cent.

Maybe, and only the operator's own terms can tell you.
The United States is excluded, and that is official. For every other country, betting on Pinnacle Sportsbook starts with its terms and with the country menu shown at registration. We could not read its full country list, so we publish none.
Do not use a VPN, and do not hunt for a mirror or "alternative link": a connection from a restricted territory is a fast way to lose a balance. A betting broker changes nothing here. An account at a broker is a separate contract, with its own terms, its own country list and its own identity check.
No VPN. No mirror site or "alternative link". No account opened in someone else's name.
The cost is concrete: operators generally reserve the right to close an account and cancel winnings when activity comes from a territory they restrict, and a connection that hides your location invites exactly that. The whole balance would be at risk to skip one page of reading. Legality also varies from country to country, and checking yours is your responsibility. Pinnacle Sports sets its minimum age at 18, or the legal age of your jurisdiction.
Which countries can use Pinnacle Sports?
Pinnacle Sports is the name that comes up first whenever bettors argue about which bookmaker has the best odds. That is why readers ask the eligibility question before any other: can I even open an account where I live? How much is settled? Less than the search results suggest.
What is settled is short, and the rest is longer than anyone would like. Rather than fill the gap with a list copied from a site that sells access, the table below separates what the operator has stated from what this page could not establish. The pages that would carry the full country list either would not load without JavaScript or answered with an error (a limit of this page, and better said than hidden).
| Situation | Established | Not established | Where to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | Excluded. The operator says it does not accept bets from people based in the United States, and it stopped taking US customers many years ago. | Nothing: no exception appears in the sources read. | The licence page on the operator's site |
| Ontario | A separate site, pinnacle.ca, licensed by the AGCO, Ontario's gaming regulator. Two published tests say the main site is unavailable there or describe separate sites. | Whether the main site accepts Ontario residents at all, and the current status of the Ontario site. | The operator's Ontario announcement and the AGCO's own register |
| Territories with a listed licence | The operator lists licences from Curaçao, Anjouan, Malta, Sweden and Ontario, with no issue or expiry dates. | Whether each licence is valid today, and whether a listed licence means residents of that territory can open an account. | The operator's licence page, then each regulator's own register |
| Any other country | The operator says some countries are restricted, refers to its terms for them, and says deposits from restricted territories are not accepted. | Which countries. Third-party lists contradict one another, and two of the sites that publish them sell broker access. | The operator's current terms and the country menu at registration |
Nothing in this table says your country is allowed. It says where the evidence stops.
Who would you be dealing with?
The version of the operator's privacy policy that could be read names Balder Media Ltd, of Belize City in Belize, as the company that owns and operates the site, and it refers to a licence from Anjouan. Local press in Curaçao reported in 2025 that Pinnacle appeared to be leaving the island, with empty offices and more than 100 staff contracts ended, and that a Curaçao licence held by another company named in the same policy was due to expire that June with no sign of renewal. The article carries no comment from the operator, and the operator's own licence page still lists Curaçao.
We could not confirm the current status of any of these licences. Why does it matter to you? Because the company on your contract decides which terms bind you and which regulator you could complain to. Check the entity named in the terms on the day you register.
What does a betting broker change, and what does it not change?
Here is the distinction most access pages skip. Pinnacle Sports and a betting broker are two different companies, so opening an account with each means two contracts: two sets of terms, two country lists, two identity checks. If the idea is new to you, the explainer on what a betting broker actually is covers it; here only the contract point matters.
A broker can change how you deposit, and how many books you reach from one login. It cannot change the law where you live, the operator's terms or anyone's verification rules. Whether Pinnacle Sports itself is comfortable with the broker model is unknown, since no official statement turned up either way.
Three of the four brokers below sell an account called PS3838, and several describe it as a sportsbook powered by Pinnacle. The operator's pages that could be read say nothing about PS3838 or about brokers, so from the operator's side the link is unverified. What one broker says is still useful. Sportmarket states on its help pages that a direct PS3838 account is opened on request, needs at least 100 EUR in the Sportmarket account, is managed entirely by Sportmarket, and, in its words, offers very similar prices but limits about 50 percent lower than Pinnacle's. Similar prices, lower ceiling. Whether that suits you depends on how much you stake.
Each broker adds downsides of its own. For Pinnacle access, the useful facts are what each one sells and where its record is weakest.
- BetInAsia sells PS3838 as a separate product and lists Pinnacle among the books inside its BLACK platform. Nothing on its own site could be read for this research, so these facts come from secondary sources. The serious complaints target the broker's compliance layer, which sits between you and the book: accounts held "under review" for weeks or months around a withdrawal, and a full identity check that published reviews of its terms call compulsory ahead of any withdrawal, and sooner once deposits pass 2,000 EUR. Widely reported over several years of reviews too: bets that had won being voided or settled as losses after an "odds discrepancy" ruling, with the operator's reply being that the underlying book decides, since BetInAsia only acts as agent. Its more than 230 Trustpilot reviews average 3.0 out of 5, split between fast crypto payouts and held balances.
- AsianConnect says one account reaches PS3838 and PIWI247, an exchange, and that it has been operating for more than twenty years. Its site states a Curaçao licence number, while the regulator's portal shows 'Not Valid' for its domain, adding that the operator may have obtained a licence from the Authority, or it has been rejected, so check the registers yourself. The recurring complaint is a balance locked behind identity checks that keep restarting, with no public reply from the operator: 16 Trustpilot reviews average 2.6 out of 5, more than two in three at one star. A second profile under a similar domain, whose link to the operator could not be confirmed, has 54 reviews averaging 1.9.
- MadMarket has no PS3838. Its own product is Probet42, described by the operator as a Pinnacle-style sportsbook, which is not Pinnacle. Identity checks begin with the first withdrawal, or with 2,000 EUR of deposits. No independent test and no verified user review of it turned up, so there is little to judge it by.
- Sportmarket runs its direct PS3838 accounts as described above. Its 81 Trustpilot reviews average 4.4 out of 5, mostly praising support, though many are very short. Only a few complain: slow identity checks, live bets accepted late, accounts closed without notice. Verification is required ahead of a first payout and can be triggered at 3,000 EUR of deposits, and its terms bar sign-ups from the United States, the United Kingdom and France, a list Sportmarket sets itself.
Treat these figures as warning signs for large balances. The panel below lists tools and grants no permission: whether a broker takes you at all depends on its own country list and on the law where you live.
What do users report about Pinnacle?
Reports split into two piles, and they do not cancel each other out.
What draws people to it?
The case for it is price. A recent University College Dublin paper, using data on more than 150,000 European football matches, found that expected losses at Pinnacle were clearly lower than at the other bookmakers in its sample. That is the low margin behind the label sharp bookmaker. Lower expected losses, yes. Realised losses in line with that prediction? No, they ran above it, a favourite-longshot bias that the authors say does not apply to Asian handicap markets. The paper is also not a test of Pinnacle, and it gives no margin figure for Pinnacle alone.
Side note: at 1.95 on both sides of a two-way market the margin is 2.56 percent (2 divided by 1.95 is 1.0256), and at 1.91 it is 4.71 percent. Margin is not cost, though: on fair coin flips every 100 staked comes back as 97.50 on average at 1.95 and 95.50 at 1.91, so 10,000 staked costs about 250 against about 450, a gap of about 200, on illustrative prices that are not quotes from any bookmaker. Put your own prices through the bookmaker margin calculator to see the cost of any market.
The operator says its limits are among the highest online and rise as an event approaches. The one official figure that could be read is a cap of 250,000 USD in winnings per calendar day on multiple bets; the per-sport limit tables you see quoted come from third-party sites. There is also no welcome bonus on sports, according to every published test read for this page. The price is the product.
What do people complain about?
The second pile is the one to read slowly. Trustpilot rates Pinnacle 1.6 out of 5 from 269 reviews, and 54 percent of them are one star; 27 percent give five. The profile mixes sports and casino, only 23 reviews date from the last twelve months, and the operator has no visible reply to the negative ones. The recurring complaints:
- Withdrawals blocked or delayed after a win, the most common theme, with accounts frozen or closed in the same stories.
- Identity checks that arrive late, just before a withdrawal, and proof of address refused without a clear reason.
- A withdrawal rule that surprises people: one free withdrawal per calendar month, then fees that depend on method and currency.
- A processing fee on deposits that were not played enough, worked through below.
The last rule is easier to judge with numbers. According to Pinnacle's terms as quoted on its payment pages, a deposit wagered fewer than three times can carry a processing fee, at the operator's discretion, equal to the greater of 10 percent of the amount withdrawn or 20 USD, on top of any withdrawal fee. Deposit 100 USD, place one 100 USD bet at 2.00 that wins, and withdraw only 100 USD: 10 percent is 10, so the 20 minimum applies, which is 20 percent of what left the account. Deposit 500 USD, stake all of it once at 2.00, win, and withdraw the 1,000 USD: 10 percent is 100. Same rule, and the fee grows with your win. The terms themselves could not be read, so check the current percentage on the payment page before you deposit. Staking more than planned to escape the rule defeats the point: the fee is the price of depositing more than you meant to use.
The slogan is "Winners Welcome", and Pinnacle says it does not close or limit the accounts of winning customers. That claim is contested. The terms are reported to reserve the right to refuse, restrict or cancel any bet at any time. A forum thread more than a decade old, with about fifteen participants, collected very different limits on the same matches. The recent public complaints, meanwhile, concern withdrawals and verification more than limits. On the other side, several long-standing customers in the five-star reviews say they were never limited. Every source read, critics included, says winners are tolerated far more than at mainstream bookmakers, and "never limited" is a stronger claim than the evidence supports. For the wider question, see the guide to bookies that do not limit winners.
Who is it for?
Best for bettors who chase price, stake regularly, accept a plain site with no bonuses, are comfortable with the rollover rule and identity checks, and live in a country the operator serves. Not ideal for casual bettors who want promotions, cash out, a native app or a chat line open around the clock (sources disagree on the last three), or for anyone who expects an instant payout after a big win with no checks. The sources have limits of their own: public reviews over-represent unhappy customers, and nearly all written tests carry a commercial interest in the book they review. The pattern counts for more than any single story.
What should you check before you open an account?
If you are eligible, five checks come first. None of them is the sign-up flow itself: the operator's official help pages would describe that, and they could not be read for this page.
Check your country and your local law
Look up the country list in the operator's current terms and the country menu at registration. If your country is missing, that is your answer. If it is there, local law is the next check, and only your local rules can settle it.
Open the terms yourself
Find the entity named, the licence, the right to refuse or limit bets, the rollover rule and the fee table. A guide like this one is a map, and the terms are what binds you.
Prepare your documents
A photo ID, and proof of address less than three months old (showing the same name and address as the account). Send both early, since withdrawals wait for them. Dull to prepare, costly to get wrong.
Understand withdrawals and rollover
Know the three rules worked out above: one free withdrawal a month, fees after that, and the processing fee on deposits wagered fewer than three times.
Start small
Deposit only an amount you accept seeing tied up for a while, and keep every message with support. If you win, withdraw in regular steps so that no large balance sits idle.
If Pinnacle Sports is not available where you live
Understanding why comes first, because it is rarely a glitch you can fix: availability follows the operator's licences, its terms and the law in your country. Best alternative? The one you can lawfully use and verify.
What remains is a choice of categories, and none is ranked here. Other Asian-style, price-focused books exist: the guides to betting with Asian bookmakers and to how to bet on SBObet cover them, and each book has its own eligibility rules and its own complaints. Betting exchanges, where you bet against other users and pay a fee on winnings, and prediction markets are different kinds of product again, with their own rules on who may join. Whatever you pick, run the same five checks.
What else do readers ask about Pinnacle Sports?
Can I use Pinnacle Sports in my country?
Only the operator's current terms and the country menu shown at registration can tell you. The United States is excluded, Ontario has a separate site, and no reliable list of other restricted countries could be read for this page. Local law is a separate question.
Can I use Pinnacle Sports with a VPN?
No. The operator says deposits from restricted territories are not accepted, and a connection that hides your location puts the whole balance at risk. The law where you live stays the same, and no steps are given here.
What verification does Pinnacle Sports ask for?
A photo ID and a recent proof of address, which the operator says it must hold on file for each customer. Its terms let it ask for proof of age and suspend the account until it arrives, and withdrawals are not accepted until the documents are in. Bitcoin payments need identity and address first, and withdrawals above 7,000 EUR or the equivalent can take longer and need more documents.
Is PS3838 the same as Pinnacle Sports?
Not proven. Brokers describe PS3838 as powered by Pinnacle, but no official source confirms it, and in practice a PS3838 account is a broker product with the broker's own terms, limits and verification. A Trustpilot profile for ps3838.com shows 2.5 out of 5, but from only 10 reviews, too few to conclude anything.
Is Pinnacle Sports legit, and why do some users report frozen withdrawals?
There is no plain yes or no. The operator lists licences from Curaçao, Anjouan, Malta, Sweden and Ontario, but their current status is unconfirmed, and local press has reported an apparent departure from Curaçao. Trustpilot gives 1.6 out of 5, with blocked or delayed withdrawals, late identity checks and accounts frozen after wins as the recurring themes, while some long-standing users report no problems at all.
